GOSSAMER FOLDS
Dir: Lisa Donato / 95 min / Narrative Feature

In 1986, ten-year-old Tate Millikin (Jackson Robert Scott) is uprooted from the big city and unwillingly moved to the suburbs of Kansas City, where he is forced to spend a lonely summer bearing witness to his parents’ disintegrating marriage. Tate ends up befriending his new next-door neighbors - recently retired English professor, Edward Bryant and his transgender daughter, Gossamer (Transparent fame Alexandra Grey). Despite his father’s knee-jerk transphobia, and his mother’s misplaced protectiveness, Tate forms a deep friendship with fellow misfit Gossamer, that changes his life and the lives of their families.

SATURDAY JUNE 19th 2.00PM

SURVIVING THE SILENCE: The Untold Story Of Two Women In Love Who Helped Change Military Policy
Dir: Cindy Abel / 80 min / Documentary Feature

In 1992, Colonel Pat Thompson was a decorated army nurse, only two years away from retirement. She was asked to preside over the military review board that eventually dismissed Colonel Margarethe Cammermeyer for admitting she was a lesbian.  Although Thompson had been in tough spots over the course of her 28-year service, this was the toughest. In that moment, she had to protect her own life secret: that she too was a lesbian and living privately with her life partner Barbara Brass for many years.  Surviving the Silence is a coming out story like no other, deeply moving, troubling, revealing of unknown, policy-changing history - and powerfully inspirational.

SUNDAY JUNE 20th 4.00PM

UNSETTLED
Dir: Tom Shepard / 81 min / Documentary Feature

Unsettled follows stories of the four LGBTQ refugees who flee their homelands to the safety of the United States. While Syrian emigrant Subhi becomes a voice for the queer refugee movement, Angolan lesbians Cheyenne and Mari, along with Junior, a gender-nonconforming gay man from the Congo, have a more difficult time navigating the labyrinths of the American bureaucracy. Director Tom Shepard takes a compassionate look at the American dream as it exists before and after the 2016 elections.
